Must Be Love…

Lately, I’ve been having some separation anxiety.

Enter, my new boo:

My Baby is Green

My Baby is Green

Thursday, I thought I lost my baby.  I was downright frantic and breaking out in a nervous sweat.  I was back to carrying plastic water bottles and dirtying the Earth.  Where was the Camelbak?!  Keep Reading…

SNOW DAY!

leave a comment »

Snow day in the land of Dubbskii.  I won’t be going outside unless I have to knock some snow/ice off the satellite.  Today I was supposed to meet with this girl to discuss our project for this class.  Note: these plans were made prior to the severe weather.  I sent her a message asking what time she wanted to meet tomorrow.  She replied, I thought we agreed to meet today.  :::BLANK FACE:::

Classes are canceled.  It has snowed and continues to snow.  What do I look like driving 20 minutes to school to talk to you about some random gene under selection pressure?  That definitely don’t look like me.  I gave her a swift response: “It’s snowing at my house. I don’t know where you live, but I will see you tomorrow.”

Is this bish crazy?  Must be.

Impulse Moves.

leave a comment »

When most people refer to making impulsive moves, they’re usually referring to very small projects.

“Oh I think I’ll bake a cake.”
“Forget it. I quit.”

I’ve decided that I love Ryan Leslie’s new album…and I’m not the gushing type.  I tire of things fairly quickly…actually I’m going to change that. I tire of things at rates comparable to the speed of light.  Yet, I find myself playing this album over and over and over again.  My Last.FM scrobbler is probably gonna have that name BURNED into the window!

Well, I cannot find reliable tour info about him.  The websites I visited show two dates in March at S.O.B.’s.  Hmm…  If that’s the only time you plan to perform Mr. Leslie, I will have to save up my measly stipend and hopefully a tax refund check.  This morning I decided that I am going to NY next week or two weeks… whenever it is. I must be there.  Now this isn’t such a big deal, but that also means I must completely characterize my mutant library before I go.

E. coli...

E. coli...

Oh science, you make a girl’s dreams so difficult.

From Here...

From Here...

....to here.

....to here.

End of Transmission.

There have been a string of crimes at school…  This is an email I received today from the police department.

Dear Students,

I’m pleased to let you know that this morning, Crazy School Police apprehended an individual in an attempted burglary in a Directional Campus residence hall. Residents in this hall spotted the attempted burglary and notified Crazy School Police who then caught the person and made the arrest. It is believed that this person has been responsible for the recent rash of student residence burglaries and he will be charged with all those crimes.

I want to thank Crazy School Police for their efforts and also acknowledge and thank the students who called the police and enabled this arrest. Though this arrest may resolve this person’s threat to our community, I ask that you maintain your diligence in keeping your room doors locked, take notice of anyone attempting to enter a building behind you and immediately notify Crazy School Police…

Now that’s not all of the email but a few sentences (bold) bother me the most.  Because it’s believed that this person is responsible, we’ll just go ahead and charge them with ALL THE CRIMES.  Maintain your diligence about locking doors?  You safe, rich children would think to sleep with your doors unlocked and your windows open because one person was apprehended?  What the thunder?  While I would like to believe you’re smarter than that, I know it’s not true. So sad, so sad.

Pleasantly Surprised

leave a comment »

So over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to cultivate friendships with people who were just acquaintances.  …And I must say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Last night, one of my new “friends” told me that I was a very strange mix.  I gave him the double take and an excuse me?  He says you know part scientist – part girly-girl.  Here’s my scientist part below.  I don’t know what image I should find to represent the girly me.  I’ve always thought of myself as more of a tomboyish type.  Hmph.

In other news, I’ve met quite a charming young gentleman.  I met him back in 2007, but I didn’t really take that opportunity to get to know him well.  There wasn’t that much that I could really do – it was the week before I graduated from undergrad.  *Le Sigh – a much simpler time in life*  Anyway, he’s a total sweetheart, or so it seems.  I’m hoping to get to know him better.  As I learn more, I’ll keep you posted.

I’m off to a night of socializing with some of my colleagues.

I don’t need no hook…

…for this shit.

Younger Classmate: I don’t know… what is it called… ri-ko-ketting?
Class in Unison: Ricocheting.

Is this for real? Was she serious?  She was of foreign origin, so she gets a pass.  Next time she will go directly to jail; do not pass go and do not collect $200.

I’m doing my best to keep a low key weekend.  I haven’t had good rest in a while.  It’s serious too.  3 out of 5 days this week my left eye has been twitching.  Someone suggested eating a banana.  Didn’t help.

The world is just a crazy place man…

TRAGEDIES  OF  THE  WEEK.

  1. This girl is all on my TV screen with that backwards B on her face. Now let’s stop and think about this for a minute.  If I carve your face, why would I write a mirror image of what I see? I wouldn’t.  They should have known that ham did it herself.  Clue number one and a BIG one at that!
  2. JHud’s mother and brother found murdered.  This is just sad and I can’t even elaborate on how tired I am of these reckless, violent crimes.
  3. Somebody ditched B.Scott.  Now if you know me, then you know I love B.Scott.  How the hell is somebody gonna walk away from B.Scott? Answer me that!  If B.Scott can’t get no d then I have no chance in hell.  It is truly a recession.  Another thing: B’s video JanetJackson video is making me step my game up!

  4. Halle Berry pressed the enter key to turn on a computer that is a multi-network system with >7 monitors. WTH Halle Berry.  Well… it is Swordfish.  John Travolta, you need a new lacefront.
